Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry Numbers from the United States

NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel during the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States during July 2022 which is an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 travelers from the United States during August 2022. This is a 13% increase over the year before.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States has been the most important source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, we had record number of Israeli tourism entries each month.

Just like in the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed its tourism numbers in Israel with 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in August.

"We are not far off our record 2019 numbers and we anticipate that this increase in the number of travelers to Israel will further increase as Canadians continue to feel more confident about traveling internationally."

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 were from the United States. The country's officially reopening to travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
