Neve Paritzki Israel is celebrating record-breaking Tourism Entry Numbers from the United States
NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today unveiled new records for arrivals of tourists to Israel from the United States in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents a 13% improvement from the year before.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) declared that it was exciting to observe the growth in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019, he said. "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 there was a record-breaking number of tourist entry numbers every month. We are delighted to see this positive shift and anticipate a steady upward trend for months, and possibly years.
Canada is home to 7,200 visitors in July 2022, and 6,000 in August isn't far from the United States.
Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was exciting to see Canada's tourism to Israel returning. נווה פריצקי "We are not far from our record in 2019 and we expect that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling abroad."
In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million international tourists, 969,600 of them coming from the United States, and since the country's official opening to all travelers regardless of vaccination status in May of this year Israel has received more than 600,400 US travelers.
