Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry The numbers come from the United States

NEW YORK - Sep. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - The Israel Ministry of Tourism today announced new records for arrivals of tourists to Israel from the United States in July and August. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over the year before and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than 2019.

"It is thrilling to once again see an increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers of 2019," stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States has been the most important market for Israel's tourism inbound. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, we had record numbers of Israel's tourism entry each month.

Canada which isn't too far from the United States of America, is poised to surpass the tourist numbers to Israel. It had 7,200 tourists in July 2022 as well as 6,000 August.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see Canada's tourism to Israel growing. "We are not far off our record 2019 numbers and we anticipate that the growth in tourism to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians continue to feel more at ease traveling abroad."

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million international tourists in the year 2019 and this included 969.600 of them coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all travelers, regardless if they are immunized. The country has already hosted more than 600,000.
